EVANS — The Town of Evans Police Department is investigating a hit-and-run injury incident that occurred on Monday.

An 89-year-old male was standing at his mailbox in front of 7380 Derby Road when he was struck by an unknown make and model vehicle. The vehicle left the scene and was last observed traveling westbound towards Sturgeon Point Road. Pieces of a side view mirror believed to be the passenger side mirror of the vehicle were found at the scene.

The male victim suffered arm, leg, and back injuries and was taken to ECMC by AMR ambulance. Highland and North Evans Fire Departments responded to assist.
