Labor donates to Rural Ministry
The Dunkirk Area Labor Council has been collecting food gift card donations at their last two meetings to assist Rural Ministry’s 2024 Holiday Food Drive. At their last meeting, Dec. 17, Don Williams, Labor Council President presented gift cards to Bridget Majka, Executive Director, Rural Ministry. Dunkirk Area Labor Council has donated close to $2,000 over the last three years. This year’s donation encompasses the following locals: CSEA 6300, CSEA 807, CSEA 607, PEF 243 and NYSUT 2190/UUP, and individual union members. The total amount surpasses the last two years, over $850 in Tops gift cards were collected to support individuals and families in our community facing food scarcity during this holiday season. The Dunkirk Area Labor Council meets monthly on the third Tuesday at 7 p.m. at the Steel Workers Union Hall located on Park Avenue and Fourth Street, Dunkirk.
