UPMC Chautauqua had its first newborn of 2025 at 2:01 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 1, 2025. Gwyn James Arndt was born to Virginia Blakeslee and Devin Arndt of Jamestown. She weighed 7 pounds and 3 ounces and is 19½ inches. The hospital offers a special thanks to community businesses for basket donations. They included: Johnny’s Lunch, Dot’s Boutique, Chautauqua Institution, Lakewood Golf Center, Lena’s Pizza, Northwest Ice Arena, Panache Spa, Pizza Express and Perfect Pizza.
