GObike honors Parker for efforts

Susan Parker

Each year, GObike of Buffalo holds their Solstice Soiree, a party to celebrate their team, community of members and volunteers who have worked to advance safe streets, accessibility, education, and bike repair and donation throughout the year.

The team at GObike celebrated a partner who goes above and beyond to further their organization’s mission. For 2024, it honored former Chautauqua County Legislator Susan Parker with their “Community Partner of the Year” award. This year, GObike collaborated with Chautauqua County, the city of Dunkirk, village of Fredonia, and SUNY Fredonia to make improvements to Central Avenue, a critical connection between all three communities.

Planning Director for GObike Brendan Seney commented “though we ran into road blocks along the way, Susan was a constant champion for our work who helped us navigate those challenges with patience and persistence. Susan has been committed to making streets safer and more accessible for residents of Chautauqua County for many years, and her continued support and commitment inspires us to keep working toward more connected and accessible communities. We appreciate Susan’s hard work and dedication for her community, and hope to continue our partnership in the future.”

GObike presented an award certificate at their annual winter fundraiser, Solstice Soiree on Dec. 12, although Parker was unable to attend due to inclement weather.

Starting at $2.99/week.
