Lake Shore Flea Market is this weekend

SHERIDAN — Another new year and a new Lake Shore Flea Market will take place this weekend at the Sheridan VFW Memorial Post, 2556 Route 20.

The hours are 4 to 7 p.m. on Friday. The market opens again on Saturday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. The VFW says “thank you” to all those fish fry supporters. Though the VFW did not win, our loyal supporters voted us the third best fish fry in the OBSERVER/Post-Journal “Best of the Best” contest!

Place your dinner order and come into the flea market to fill out a ticket to win two free fish dinners. No purchase is necessary for the free dinners. If you can’t make it Friday night, you may enter the drawing on Saturday too.

The Cash for Christmas raised $1,600 from October through the December Market. Some $800 was given to the veterans and the other to the lucky winner from Fredonia. The next 50-50 will be a “Spring Fling.” This will again be an ongoing 50-50 starting with the January flea market and continuing through the April market. The winner will be drawn April 5. Half of the money will support the veterans and half will be awarded to one lucky winner.

One ticket is $2 and three tickets are $5. The more tickets you buy, the better your odds and the bigger the pot for your Spring Fling.

You do not have to be present to win either drawings. In addition to the flea market and Friday night fish fry, the VFW will be offering Saturday breakfast and lunch. Breakfast includes a breakfast sandwich on homemade biscuits, fresh brewed coffee. Lunch is homemade soup of the week, pizza and wings. The VFW offers a full service bar for a variety of beverages.
