Out Of Control Party Leads To Homeless Person Hospitalized

Submitted Photo A sideview of a guest at the United Christian Advocacy Network’s City Mission is pictured after being allegedly ‘pistol whipped’ Wednesday by an out-of control party guest at Venue 31. Additionally, officials at UCAN City allege that at least two other homeless guests had firearms drawn and pointed at them during the same incident.

One person was taken to UPMC Chautauqua after allegedly being beaten with a pistol Wednesday night outside the UCAN City Mission after an out-of-control party at Venue 31.

Two other UCAN City Mission shelter guests said they had guns drawn on them.

“We’re still trying to piece together all that happened last night,” said Bruce Baehr, UCAN City Mission executive director. “What we do know is that one of our guests is still hospitalized after being ‘pistol whipped, and two other guests are traumatized after having firearms drawn and aimed at their faces.”

Chad Danler, an employee with the mission said, there was a huge party at the building next door which quickly got out of control.

“They (party guests) were shooting guns in the air, pistol whipped one of our guests and pointed guns in the face of two other guests who are staying here at UCAN,” Danler said.

Danler said Jamestown Police Department officers showed up in force to deal with the situation.

“We had like 10 cop cars here,” he said.

A phone call and email sent to Jamestown Police officials requesting comments about the situation went unanswered as of The Post-Journal’s press deadline.
