Grape Belt Seniors announce day trips for coming months
Grape Belt Seniors are happy to announce seven of our trips for 2025, with maybe more to come as they are completed. The newest trip is to Niagara Casino for the Matinee Comedic show presentation filled with history and humor starring stand-up comic host Joel Dombrowski.
He will be revealing 300 years of history, humor and compelling stories of daredevils and tightrope walkers. Attendees will get the show, $25 in slot play and $5 toward food. Leaving at 10:30 a.m. and returning at 7 p.m. July 22 with a cost of $50.
The first trip will be to Cleveland for the Yankee baseball game on Wednesday, April 23. A 1:10 p.m. game with departure from Wal-Mart at 9 a.m. and return at 8 p.m. Club seating tickets are in Section 334,with an all you can eat buffet until the seventh inning. This trip is finalized but you can be put on a waitlist for a cancellation.
On Saturday, May 31, the group is off to Shea’s for a 2 p.m. matinee, “Ain’t Too Proud.”
It is a story of the Temptation’s history over the years and their success, with many of their popular songs. We have seats only 10 rows from the stage. We will be having a Family Style Dinner at Ilio DiPaolo’s. Departure from Wal-Mart at Noon and will return at 7 p.m. Still some seats left if interested please call soon.
On Monday, June 30, there will be Niagara Flight & Niagara-On-The-Lake. Doing the Niagara Whirlpool Aero Car, Lunch at the Garden Cafe, Butterfly Conservatory, and time in Niagara-On-The-Lake. Need a passport or enhanced license to go on this trip. Leaving Walmart at 8 a.m. and returning at 7 p.m.
Sunday, Aug. 3 is going to be with Joel Dombroski as Tour Host for “Queen For A Day”. We start out with Brunch and a beverage at the “Barrell Factory.” Next is a cruise on the “Big Kahuna Tiki Boat.” There will be a carousel ride on the Historic Buffalo Heritage Carousel in Canal Side and continue on to the Magic Bear Beer Cellar at Larkinville for yet another beverage. A stop will be made at Parkside Candies for a sweet treat included in your visit. Departure from Walmart at 10:30 a.m. and return at 5:30 p.m.
On Oct. 1, the group will be traveling on the Arcade & Attica Train. Having lunch at the Turkey Run Golf Club, a stop at Made in America Store with a sweet treat is included, and a stop at Merritt Winery for a wine tasting. Depart from Walmart at 9:30 a.m. and return at 6:00 p.m.
Spragues and Sites will be on Oct. 15 in Portville. The group will start out at the Rusty Rooster Farm and Vintage and the Chocolate Roost. Next, it will be on to Spragues for lunch with three choices for your meal. After lunch the group will make its way to the Basilica of St. Mary the Angels in Olean. The last stop will be the Cuba Cheese Shoppe. Leave at 8:15 a.m. and return at 6 p.m.
The next potluck luncheon will be on March 19 the lodge starting at 11:30. All members need to just bring a dish to pass.
Please note that all trips are first paid, first reserved. All trips have a deadline for payment and once the venues are paid there is not a refund for tickets, should you need to cancel you can find someone to take your place and the organization will also help with that.
New members are welcome! Exercise class is on Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 9 to 10 a.m. at the lodge, with game day on Friday at 10:15 a.m. Must be a member to attend activities.
