Republicans nominate pair for Village Board

Westfield Republican Committee has nominated two candidates for the 2025-26 village election. There are two vacant Trustee seats and the party has endorsed Kathryn Bronstein and Lynlee Cunningham. The village election is March 18 from noon to 9 p.m. at Eason Hall.

Bronstein said: “I am excited to be running for the position of Westfield Village Trustee. Having grown up in Westfield, I appreciate all that a small town has to offer.

“After graduating high school, I attended Syracuse University graduating with a BS degree in Nursing. Subsequent to that I attended SUNY Buffalo for a MS degree and University of Illinois for a Ph.D. I’ve lived in many states and held a variety of positions in my career, many of which provided valuable experiences that I can bring to the role of trustee including budgeting, grant writing, compliance activities and management. Prior to retiring, I held the position of VP – Health Outcomes at Walgreens.

“I moved back to Westfield 10 years ago in order to be closer to family and friends. Since then I have become heavily involved in local organizations. I am currently President of the Westfield Memorial Hospital Foundation, President of the YWCA Westfield and Trustee of the Chautauqua County Historical Society.

“My goal in becoming a Village Trustee is to ensure that Westfield remains a vibrant community that attracts both new residents and tourists. I firmly believe the Village needs to continue to develop long range plans, apply for available grants and listen to community members ideas and concerns so that we will remain a wonderful place to live and work.”

Cunningham said: “I am currently running for a Village of Westfield Trustee. Born and raised in Westfield, I attended college in Ohio returning home in 1991.

“Soon after I began a career in law enforcement working for the state Department of Corrections and Community Supervision and then relocating to suburban Chicago where I continued working in that field. In 1999, I returned to Westfield permanently. I then took a job with Chautauqua & Erie Telephone Company (FairPoint/Consolidated) where I worked for 18 years. During that time, I held various positions from HR Admin, Network Engineer and Outside Plant Manager. My employment ended when the company was sold in 2017. I then started up a local property maintenance company and in 2024 began working part-time at our local Tractor Supply store.”

Starting at $2.99/week.
