10 join Honor Society at Pine Valley

SOUTH DAYTON – Ten of Pine Valley Jr./Sr. High School’s most outstanding upperclassmen were celebrated in front of their families, peers and district faculty at the Honor Society induction ceremony held March 25.

Senior Danielle West, junior Brooke McCoy along with sophomores Tianna Bova, Karley Ebel, JaKobe Howard, MJ Quinn, Lily Hohl, Bella Lilley, Madi Robertson, and Carlie Ward were recognized for their academic achievements as well as for demonstrating scholarship, character, service and leadership.

Following a welcome by Principal Kourtney Almeida, the Pledge of Allegiance was led by Senior Honor Society Inductee Bella Lilley.

Sarah Kruszka then provided an overview of the history of the Pine Valley chapter. Trent Ivett, James Maltbie, Destiny Lindquist, and Madison Ebel then gave an overview of the four pillars of scholarship, service, leadership, and character.

Kruszka also led the new inductees in reciting the Senior Honor Society Pledge: “I pledge to uphold the high purpose of the Junior Honor Society to which I have been selected. I will be true to the principles for which it stands. I will be loyal to my school, and will maintain and encourage high standards of scholarship, service, leadership and character.” Rayne Bruyer led the closing.

After the ceremony ended a reception with cake and punch was held for Senior Honor Society members and their families.
