Participation urged in Two Lights event Friday
In an acknowledgement of the coming 250th birthday of the United States in July 2026, all Americans are urged to begin preparation for this monumental event. That can be done by participating in the kickoff to the coming year that starts on Friday.
With an evening of symbolic representation, all government buildings, businesses and residence are urged to illuminate two lights representing the two lanterns that were displayed on April 18, 1775, by Paul Revere, in Boston from the steeple of the Old North Church, signifying the coming of the British Army, that started the American Revolution.
The American Legion considers it a great way to honor our heritage and the forming of our great country. This request has been handed down from the Legion National Headquarters that created the Two Lights for Tomorrow initiative. The Legion’s National Commander has requested that All Legion Posts nationwide join in this celebration and encourage all local communities, county and state governments to do so as well.
On Friday, light your two lights at dusk, and be a part of this significant event. Patriotism is never frowned upon in the USA.
