Up and coming music sensation Ruthie Collins, a Fredonia native, is proud to participate in an upcoming episode of ABC’s “The Bachelor Winter Games.” The episode will feature a kick off celebration with a parade down Main Street of beautiful Manchester, Vermont with cast members from U.S. and international versions of “The Bachelor” and “The Bachelorette.”

This episode of “The Bachelor Winter Games” is scheduled to air Tuesday, Feb 13, at 8 p.m. on ABC.

Collins posted on her Facebook page that she will be performing “All I wanna be.”

On the newest addition to ABC’s hit romance reality franchise “The Bachelor Winter Games,” viewers will watch Bachelor Nation expand into Bachelor World as love expands over oceans and across continents. The bachelors and bachelorettes will participate in challenges from winter biathlon to ice dancing, with date cards being given to the winners of each challenge. Romantic dates will test the bachelors’ and bachelorettes’ perseverance in pursuing relationships with one another while faced with language barriers and cultural differences, including some amusing issues with intimacy. Will the first truly international Bachelor couple unite in February? Hosted by Chris Harrison, “The Bachelor Winter Games” is a production of Next Entertainment in association with Warner Horizon Unscripted & Alternative Television.

In her career, Collins is described as “the kind of lady who wears her finest floral dress to her favorite dive bar. She’s not afraid to drink wine from a box or top shelf whiskey from a mason jar. She’s a classic Southern songstress with a vintage airstream embracing the modern world.”

Raised on a farm in Fredonia, Collins fell in love with country music at a young age. Her mother, a church organist, celebrated her natural affinity and introduced her to a variety of instruments, starting with piano and the violin. As a promising vocalist and multi-instrumentalist looking for a bigger pond, she left home to attend Berklee College of Music in Boston.

Post-graduation, Collins accepted a position as musical director for a church in San Antonio. It was a comfortable, pleasant path, but she couldn’t ignore the call from within to pursue a career as a singer songwriter in Nashville. With a few vintage suitcases and a hand-me-down Martin to her name, she moved to Music City to pay her dues. Years of writing by day and waitressing by night paid off when she was signed to Curb Records.

Following the success of her first EP and her unique version of “Ramblin’ Man,” Collins began touring the US, performing for receptive crowds at Stagecoach, SummerFest, Watershed, and CMA Fest to name a few. Along the way, she’s earned critical acclaim from Rolling Stone, The LA Times, and was named one of CMT’s Next Women of County.

Having completed a recently released full-length debut album, “Get Drunk And Cry,” she’s ready to share a heartfelt collection of songs that catalogs her personal struggles with relationships and coming into her own. Collins co-wrote all 10 tracks on the album and recently launched Get Drunk And Cry — The Short Film, yet another creative venture on top of award-winning social media series Pinterest Pass Or Fail and 30 Second DIY, a multi-faceted showcase of both her music and love affair for all things vintage and restoration design.

Collins can also be seen co-hosting A&E’s “Home.Made” airing each weekend 9 a.m. to noon.
