Fall fest rings up donations for dogs
Special to the OBSERVER
Laurie Miller, owner of the Bemus Point Inn in Bemus Point, recently held a fundraiser for Northern Chautauqua Canine Rescue in Westfield and invited the agency to set up a tent on the property during the Bemus Point Fall Festival.
Miller is a previous adopter from NCCR and wanted to help out the shelter as well as support the Fall Festival.
Weather was perfect during the weekend and the volunteers were able to bring adoptable dogs for each day they were there, as well as collecting donations and selling some of their NCCR clothing and dog accessories. Miller’s pet themed basket and Bemus Point Inn gift card raised more than $900 for the rescue.
“NCCR would like to thank Laurie and her customers for all their support,” the agency said in an e-mail. “The dogs loved having an outing and were certainly a hit with everyone they met.
