Imagine Forestville offers honors, appreciation

Imagine Forestville held its annual meeting and appreciation dinner on Oct. 25 at the Forestville Meeting House.
Sixty attendees helped celebrate the group’s accomplishments of the past year and were thanked for their contributions.
Accepting a collector’s edition photo of Walnut Falls were representatives from the Chautauqua County Partnership for Economic Growth, the Town of Hanover, the Chautauqua County and Hanover Chambers of Commerce, the Northern Chautauqua Community Foundation, Clinton Brown Company Architecture, the Forestville American Legion, the Fredonia Farmers Market, the Forestville Fall Festival Committee and the Fredonia Garden Club.
The Imagine Forestville’s Person of the Year Award went to Richard Yeager, who has lived in Forestville for 76 years, for his dedication to his country and his community. Yeager was once Mayor of Forestville, is active in the American Legion and in volunteer work, and shares his love for the history of Forestville with others.
President Aimee Rogers recapped each of the Imagine Forestville projects of the past year, which included continued work to obtain a National Register Historic District, improvements to the hiking trail, receipt of a $20,000 grant from the Chautauqua County Partnership for Economic Growth, operation of the Forestville Farmers Market, receipt of a Community Grant from the Northern Chautauqua Community Foundation for trail signage, applying for a NY Forward Grant and more.
Nancy Adams Fry was re-elected to the Board of Directors of Imagine Forestville and Kim Woodward was newly elected to the Board.
