Sales include land for Frewsburg apartments, Jamestown warehouse
A new apartment project appears to be on its way in Frewsburg.
The Post-Journal and OBSERVER have been analyzing real estate sales in Chautauqua County and recently looked at the transactions from July 16-23.
During that time period, Royal Housing, LLC of Jamestown and Brenda Strasser sold 82 Falconer St., Frewsburg, town of Carroll, to Diamond Builders Corp. for $85,000.
Diamond Builders Corp. has proposed constructing an apartment complex on that property. In a phone interview, Councilman John Barber said the project has been approved by the Carroll Town Board.
Some residents had opposed the project, complaining that it was too big and that it would lower the value of neighboring properties.
Town officials were told that the property is zoned correctly and they couldn’t legally deny it a building permit solely on the basis that residents don’t want it.
In a separate sale, Williams Fabricating, LLC of Jamestown sold 270 Steele St., Jamestown to Fire Guys Bounce Houses and Party Rentals, LLC of Lakewood for $163,000.
Fire Guys Bounce Houses and Party Rentals rents out bounce houses and other items for parties. They also put up Christmas light displays for businesses and organizations, using lights owned by Fire Guys.
In an email, the company stated that they are currently running their bounce house/party rentals and Christmas lights out of one section of the warehouse. Another section of the warehouse is being leased to one of the old employees of Williams Fabricating who is running his own fabrication business. A third section of their warehouse is being remodeled and will be available for lease to a small business, once completed.
From July 16-23, there were four sales that were $250,000 or higher. They are as follows:
