Partners in Kind plans coming events to aid area
Partners in Kind invites residents to a Dip ‘n Sip Potluck with the organization Saturday at 1 p.m. at the Fredonia Presbyterian Church on Central Avenue.
Attendees are encouraged to bring a favorite fall-inspired dip or non-alcoholic beverage and get to know the members behind Partners in Kind, learn about our mission and upcoming projects right here in Chautauqua County. The organization is also collecting new blankets for distribution to county agencies that serve children in crisis at this meeting. Partners in Kind of Chautauqua County is a community based group whose mission is to facilitate charitable efforts and promote acts of kindness in our community. Through service and connection, it is striving to make Chautauqua County whole again.
“We complete a variety of projects that aim to serve working people/families and populations often forgotten about,” the organization noted.
Recent projects this summer included “We’ve Got Your Back… to school”, wherein nominations were accepted for school personnel who go above and beyond for their students and their schools. Five Chautauqua County educators were selected to receive a nominal gift card to thank them for how they continually show up for their school communities, and all nominees were delivered a card and token of appreciation to start their school year off on a positive note.
In the beginning of the summer Partners in Kind facilitated a drive for menstrual hygiene products, to provide “period packs” for young adults in the county who often rely on their school nurse’s offices or other resources to meet their needs during the school year. These packs were delivered to agencies serving Chautauqua county year-round including public libraries, the YWCA, Arise Chautauqua, Child Advocacy Program, Chautauqua County Mental Hygiene and Catholic Charities Dunkirk.
On Oct. 26, the organization is teaming up with friends The AG Team to host a trunk or treat for the community from 3 to 5 p.m. at 62 Franklin Ave. Learn more about community agencies, set up your own trunk for treating, or just bring your family to enjoy the fall festivities! Those who want to register their classic car, work/construction truck or other unique vehicle are encouraged to call organizer Michael Hoerbelt at (716) 913-6152.
Partners in Kind also hosts a “Little Free Pantry” currently located at Wheelock Elementary School in Fredonia. Community members are encouraged to leave what they can, and take what they need from the pantry. If you’re looking to donate to the pantry, simply drop off non-perishable food or hygiene donations in the designated areas of the pantry. We’re also excited to be hosting our Seventh Annual Remember the Magic event this upcoming holiday season!
At Partners in Kind, we believe that every one of us has a gift to give, and that when we all do our part, our community is a better place. We encourage anyone with an interest in taking a more active role in doing good in their community to join us to learn more! Do Good. Be Kind.
