Brocton names top students for month
BROCTON — Students of the month have been announced for November by the faculty and staff.
Sophia Kinslow has been selected as the Middle School Student of the Month.
She is currently an eighth-grader and resides in Portland with her parents Ken and Michelle Kinslow. She participates in Book Club and Bowling. Her favorite subjects are Math, Social Studies and English. She plans to become a first grade teacher in the future.
Madison Sears has been selected as the High School Student. The daughter of Stacy Sears and Lola Kinney, she has made a significant impact at Brocton. She is an active participant in various sports, serving as a member of the Varsity Softball and Basketball teams, as well as the Swim Club. In addition to her athletic commitments, Madison is involved in numerous extracurricular activities, including the Interact Club, National Honor Society, and Student Council.
Demonstrating her leadership skills, Madison has held the position of President of the Class of 2025 for three years and has served as Secretary for one year. Her passion for the arts is evident through her participation in the Drama Club, Writers Inc., and Chorus.
Beyond her school activities, Madison is a dedicated American Legion Jr. member, where she volunteers her time to support local veterans.
Madison’s favorite subject is English 1540. Looking ahead, she plans to attend Jamestown Community College (JCC) to study early childhood education. After JCC, she intends to further her education at SUNY Fredonia, focusing on inclusive education. Ultimately, Madison aspires to earn a PhD to become an Applied Behavior Analyst.
