Festivals Fredonia sets Miracle on Main Street
Festivals Fredonia’s annual “Miracle on Main Street” festival is set for Saturday from 9 a.m to 7 p.m.
End a great Small Business Week with the “Miracle on Main Street” festival. After the free movie (must be accompanied by an adult), generously sponsored by Southern Chautauqua Federal Credit Union, in the 1891 Fredonia Opera House Performing Arts Center featuring the 20th anniversary of “The Polar Express,” join in for the official lighting of the tree by Santa Claus at the gazebo in Barker Common!
Come celebrate all of the MIRACLES of the holiday season in downtown Fredonia. Santa and Mrs. Claus come to town on this special day with activities and fun times for kids and the whole family, including caroling, the tree lighting, food and craft vendors, donut decorating provided by Tim Horton’s starting at 10 a.m. at the Fredonia Memorial Post 59 American Legion (156 E. Main St), wineries, breakfast with Santa at 9 a.m., gingerbread decorating at 11 a.m. sponsored by The Cakery (fee) at the Fredonia First Methodist Church, basket raffle, shopping, and much more. A fun, family festival!
The MIRACLES throughout the day include:
– The Miracle of SHARING (Salvation Army “Red Kettle” campaign)
– The Miracle of THE HOLIDAY (Santa lighting the tree at 6 p.m.)
– The Miracle of GIVING (Festivals Fredonia annual “Community Give Back” recipient – Literacy Volunteers of CHQ)
– The Miracle of GENEROSITY (All of those who generously support Festivals Fredonia throughout the year and during this special festival)
– The Miracle of LIFE (supporting your local blood drive)
The festival and events kick off at 10 a.m. with activities throughout the village, at spots such as Fredonia Memorial Post 59 American Legion, Fredonia First Methodist Church, Next Chapter Bookstore, The 1891 Fredonia Opera House Performing Arts Center, Darwin R. Barker Library and Museum, and Domus Fare.
There will be story time with Santa for youngsters at Barker Library, and story time with Mrs. Claus at the Next Chapter Bookstore (12 Park Place).
Craft vendors and kid’s craft time will be set up in the Fredonia Memorial Post 59 American Legion starting at 10 a.m.; visits with Santa will take place from 2 to 4 p.m. Festivals Fredonia is hosting a basket raffle in Fredonia Memorial Post 59 American Legion as well; proceeds to go towards the annual “Community Give Back” program.
There will also be food vendors, wineries, as well as family friendly menus at Domus Fare. Santa will also be visiting Domus Fare from 10 a.m. to noon. Attend the “Polar Express” free movie at 4 p.m., followed by the tree lighting by Santa.
Immediately following the lighting of the tree, Festivals Fredonia’s annual give back donation will be presented to Literacy Volunteers of CHQ at the museum. Come on out and kick off the holiday season!
