Holiday collection benefits youth and families

Pictured are Susan Pepe from Fredonia Presbyterian and Mary Perez, Education Coordinator, who is accepting the clothing on behalf of Agri-Business Child Development.

Fredonia Presbyterian Church has had a long-standing relationship with Fredonia Agri-Business Child Development (ABCD). For many years the folks at Fredonia Presbyterian have been collecting new underwear, tee-shirts, socks, mittens, hats, and scarves for the students at Head Start and their siblings. This year the Fredonia-Pomfret Grape Belt Seniors joined in the holiday collection.

Fredonia Agri-Business Child Development is housed in St. Joseph’s Church on Main Street in Fredonia. ABCD provides comprehensive early childhood education services to farm workers and other eligible families in the Fredonia area.

Fredonia Presbyterian has a history of involvement with the community. Currently they house the Fred Basket (food pantry) which has weekday and the third Saturday of the month hours, and serve as a meeting place for Girl Scouts, Narcotics Anonymous, Compeer, Rotary, and Art Discovery.

They also sell organic and fairly traded Equal Exchange products that do not compete with local farmers at the Farmer’s Market the second Saturday of the month.

Starting at $2.99/week.
