CASSADAGA – A long-vacant manufacturing building in the village is finally going to be put to use.

On Sept. 13, 309 Maple Avenue, LLC of Mayville sold 309 Maple Ave., Cassadaga to Wits Real Estate Holdings, LLC of Cassadaga for $25,000.

That is the location of the former Cassadaga Designs, which has been closed for many years.

Wits Real Estate also owns and operates Wits Convenience Store on Main Street, Cassadaga, which sells VP Racing fuel and previously was Kwik Fill.

A.J. Witkowski with Wits Convenience was asked about plans for 309 Maple Ave.

At this point, he could confirm part of the building would be used by Amanda Lancaster, who owns and operates Daw Daw’s Delights.

Daw Daw Delights is a home-based bakery located in Cassadaga, specializing in custom decorated sugar cookies and gourmet chocolate chip cookies.

“I’ve been operating for the last four years as a registered home baker with the state,” Lancaster said in an interview. “With this new building it’s going to allow me to expand my menu and do a lot more than what I can do now. I’m very restricted with what I can do now at home.”

Lancaster is a one-person operation. She said depending on how things go once Daw Daw Delights relocates, she may add other staff.

Daw Daw Delights takes orders online for its cookies. Once the business is located on Maple Avenue, Lancaster said she plans to offer cookie decorating classes.

She thinks Daw Daw Delights will move into the new location in the spring or early summer. The Maple Avenue building is in poor condition and will require some significant remodeling.

Starting at $2.99/week.
