Fredonia Trustee Jon Espersen wants to “adjust” parking rates and other fees, as the village continues to look for ways to fill its budget gap.

Espersen stated at the village Board of Trustees meeting last week, “I passed out to all the trustees our current — from 2009 — not just parking, but all the other fees attached in there. I would ask that we all take a look at that and see how we want to adjust them.”

He added, “We would have to call a public hearing to do that. So let’s see if we can kind of confirm what we want to change that to, so at our next meeting, we can call for a public hearing and incorporate the new fees.”

“I like that,” said Trustee Michelle Twichell.

The next trustees meeting was rescheduled to Wednesday, Feb. 5. Meetings are normally on Mondays, but village officials will reportedly be attending the New York Conference of Mayors’ annual get-together in Albany on Monday that week.
