Friend to families Retiring pediatrician Dr. Rajiv Parikh honored

The Chautauqua Center, Inc., (TCC) recently celebrated the retirement of Dr. Rajiv Parikh, a beloved pediatrician who has served the Dunkirk community for more than 45 years. He has provided compassionate care to countless children and comfort to hundreds of parents during his tenure.

Dr. Parikh has been a fixture at the health center for more than seven years, merging his practice with TCC at that time to offer pediatric healthcare to underserved populations. He has practiced since from the same location at 1134 Central Avenue.

“Dr. Parikh has been an invaluable member of our team,” CEO Michael Pease said. “His dedication to his patients and his passion for providing quality care are unmatched. He will be deeply missed by his colleagues, our patients, and the entire community.”

Dr. Parikh received his medical degree from Topiwala National Medical College 1971 and has been affiliated with Brooks Memorial Hospital and UPMC Chautauqua throughout his career. He began his practice in Dunkirk in 1977, merging it with the community health center in 2017. Dr. Parikh quickly became a favorite among TCC patients and staff alike. Known for his gentle demeanor and his ability to connect with children, Dr. Parikh has made a lasting impact on his patients and their loved ones.

“It has been an honor and a privilege to serve the Dunkirk community,” said Dr. Parikh. “I am grateful for the opportunity to have made a difference in the lives of so many children and watch them grow into adults. I will cherish the memories I have made here.”

Dr. Parikh’s retirement party was held at his Central Avenue practice, and he was accompanied by his wife, Amita. Administration and staff honored them during an informal luncheon.

TCC Pediatricians such as Dr. Hannah Winters, Dr. Damian Ternullo, and Dr. Paul Robbins will continue the mission of TCC and Dr. Parikh at the Central Avenue location.
