Vince Martonis of Gerry presented a program at the Sinclairville Library on the Caleb Mathews redware/stoneware pottery site in Gerry. Martonis has been Hanover Historian for almost 42 years and has found, collected and studied Mathews pottery since 1984. He displayed 18 of his own Mathews pieces and 3 on loan from the Fenton History Center in Jamestown. He is scheduled to present a program on all the Chautauqua County pottery sites at the Fenton History Center on April 9. Watch for time and details in an upcoming paper.
