Sheridan accepts two contracts

SHERIDAN — The Town of Sheridan accepted a pair of contracts at its latest Town Board meeting.
One contract, with CAHill Tech of West Seneca, pertains to training of highway department employees. The Town of Sheridan Highway Department hired two new employees in December. Highway Superintendent Jeff Feinen also serves as the Town of Dunkirk’s Superintendent through an intermunicipal agreement.
The other contract finalized by the Town was with 3 Pete’s Masonry for the replacement of the windows and doors on the Town of Sheridan Highway Barn. The Town approved the bid of $59,870 at a previous meeting. The majority of the work is covered through grant funds. The Town is also in the process of renovating its Community Center through the use of American Rescue Plan Act funds.
The Town Board also approved the purchase of a laptop and other related accessories for Code Enforcement Officer James Crowell. The cost of the laptop is $1,584.94, with the total including accessories being $2,235.49.
Crowell issued two building permits, six certificates of occupancy, one certificate of compliance, one notice of violation and one address change; conducted seven inspections on construction, one public safety inspection, and investigated two complaints during the month of February. He collected a total of $562.50 for the month.
The Sheridan Justice Court collected a total of $15,125 in the month of February to be turned over to the Town for distribution. The Town Clerk’s office collected $221.50 in the month of February, of which $192.50 was turned over to the Town’s General Fund. The State Department of Agriculture and Markets received $29.
The next meeting of the Town Board is Wednesday, April 9 at 7 p.m. at the Sheridan Community Center.
