Unnamed group to help pickleballers with cracks
It looks like an organization will serve up some help for local pickleballers concerned about Russell Joy Park’s courts.
Fredonia Trustee Jon Espersen announced at Monday’s Board of Trustees meeting that he had spoken to an organization which will offer the $910 desired by the pickleballers to repair cracks in the courts.
Espersen didn’t want to name the organization when asked on Tuesday. “I’ll let them make the announcement when the agreement has been formalized,” he said.
Ed Kirchmeyer and Geralyn Majkowski requested the $910 at the trustees’ previous meeting. Kirchmeyer is president of Chautauqua Pickleball Club and Majkowski is the local ambassador for United States Amateur Pickleball Association.
Kirchmeyer said club members can do the work themselves, filling the cracks with caulk that will offer about two years’ worth of unhindered play.
