BUFFALO — Mark W. Townsend of Roseville St. formerly of Gowanda passed away unexpectedly at home in Buffalo, Mark was 62 years old. Born June 4, 1954 in Gowanda the son of Jennie (Widgay) Townsend and Fred W. Townsend. Mark retired earlier this year from the University of Buffalo where he worked in the dental dept. as a clerk. Mark had 25 years of NYS employment. Mark enjoyed coin collecting and loved music, he especially liked the Beatles. Survivors include a daughter Cerene J. Usinski of Cheektowaga, 2 sisters Kathleen (Richard) Timmel of Gowanda and Jean M. Klar of Hamburg. Mark is also survived by nieces Kari Timmel, Krista Barvian and a nephew Jeff Klar. Besides his parents Mark was preceded in death by a brother Gary Townsend. Funeral Service will be held Tuesday, December 6, 2016 @ 10 a.m. from the SCHINDLER FUNERAL HOME, 44 Center St. Gowanda (716)-532-4200 ( no prior visitation). The Rev. Joseph Porpiglia will officiate. Memorials may be made to a local charity of one’s choice.
