Christopher J. Haase
Christopher John Haase, 25, of Dunkirk died unexpectedly Saturday (May 13, 2017) at home.
He was born July 6, 1991 in Buffalo, the son of Lawrence J. Haase Jr. of Utica and the late Magdalena (Rivera) Fred.
A lifelong Dunkirk resident, Christopher was a graduate of Dunkirk High School, Class of 2009. He was employed as the manager of Chadwick Bay Marina in Dunkirk. He was a member of the Dom Polski Club and Lakeside Club.
Chris was a motorcycle enthusiast. He loved to spend time with his family and friends. His boys will remember him most for their daily rides in their green Power Wheels Camero. He always made sure their headlights were on.
He loved to take his boys fishing, where Blake caught his first fish this spring.
Chris leaves behind the love of his life and high school sweetheart, Syrina Drummond. Chris will be remembered for his carefree and down-to-earth personality. Chris had a heart of gold and will be deeply missed.
Besides his father, he is survived by his fiancee and mother of his children, Syrina Drummond; two sons, Blake and Sylas Haase; twin brother, Johnathan (Laura) Haase of Fredonia; one sister, Jessica (Shamaar) Braggs of Buffalo; four brothers, Justin (Lisa) Fred, Lawrence Haase III, and Brian Haase, all of Dunkirk, and Joseph Fred of Florida; maternal grandmother, Wilma Rivera of Dunkirk; paternal grandparents, Lawrence and Patricia Haase of Dunkirk; and several nieces and
nephews.
In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Raul Rivera Sr.; and two uncles, Randy C.Haase and Hector Rivera.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial, which will be celebrated Thursday morning at 10 o’clock in St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church. Calling hours will be held Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the McGraw-Kowal Funeral Home. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery.
