Debra L Thayer, 60 years old from Portland, New York passed away unexpectedly Tuesday October 2, 2018 at Westfield Memorial Hospital in Westfield, New York. Debbie was born May 4, 1958 and was the daughter of the late Gordon Dikeman and Norma (Dietzen) Dikeman of
Portland, New York. She was a 1976 graduate of Brocton Central School and had been employed as a Shift Supervisor at the CVS Health/Pharmacy in Westfield, New York since 1981. Debbie married Daryl R Thayer in 1979 and they were married for 36 years before he preceded her in death on December 21, 2015. Together they raised two lovely daughters, Mrs. Melissa (Tony) Jones of Monroe, North Carolina and Ms. Christine Fregosi also of Monroe, North Carolina; five grandchildren: Jennifer and Aaron Robinson, Derek Jones, Michael Duprey and Nicholas Fregosi; one brother Richard (Michele) Dikeman and three sisters : Ms Cathy L Ruch, Rebecca (Lini) Lauto’o and Sandra K (David) Franzen and Uncle Terrance (Astrid) Dietzen. Many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews as well as several cousins also survive. Besides her father Gordon Dikeman she was predeceased by one brother Douglas Dikeman who passed away in 2003.Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday October 9, 2018 from the Morse Funeral Home of Brocton, New York. The Rev. Larry Morrison of the Brocton Baptist Church will officiate. A Private Interment will take place in the Portland Evergreen
Cemetery. Friends and family are invited for visiting hours at the Morse Funeral Home, 51 Highland Ave. Brocton, New York on Monday October 8, 2018 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Following the Funeral Service on Tuesday morning a light luncheon will be provided at the Green Arch Restaurant, 41 West Main Street in Brocton New York at 1 p.m. Dishes to pass would also be welcome and enjoyed. The family suggests Memorials in Debbie’s memory and honor be made to The Chautauqua County 4-H, 3542 Turner Rd, Jamestown, New York 14701.
