Concetta Z. Thompson, 87, died on December 25, 2018, at the Chautauqua Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Dunkirk, NY. She was born on March 6, 1931, in Masontown, Pa. to the late Ferdinando and Margherita (Aquilina) Zungre, but, lived in the Dunkirk/Fredonia area most of her life. Concetta was a member of the Laona United Methodist Church, Share and Care Seniors, Eastern Stars, and many other local clubs. She had also worked as a real estate agent for many years and enjoyed staying physically active. Concetta had been an avid pinochle player. Concetta is survived by her two sons, James B. and Robert Thompson, and her two daughters, Deborah A. Karnes and Sally A. Thompson. She is further
survived by several grandchildren and great grandchildren. A special thanks is given to her grandson, David Stevens, his wife, Stephanie, and their two children, Sophie and Carter, who were always there when they were needed.Besides her parents, Concetta was predeceased by her husband, James C. Thompson, her daughter, Gloria Stevens, a brother, Anthony Zungre, and her sister, Teresa Humphrey.Concetta’s 11 a.m. Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, December 29, 2018 at the Laona United Methodist Church, with the Reverend Michael Spell officiating. Relatives and friends are invited to attend her Funeral Service and may call at the Fantauzzi Funeral Home, 82 East Main Street, Fredonia, NY, on Friday, December 28, 2018, from 4-7 p.m.In lieu of flowers, donations, in Concetta’s memory, may be made to the Laona United Methodist Church.Interment will be in the Laona Cemetery.All arrangements have been entrusted to Michael R. Fantauzzi, Owner and Director.
