Katherine A. Sliwa
Katherine A. Sliwa, 65, of Dunkirk passed away Tuesday, January 29, 2019 after a brief Illness at the Chautauqua Nursing and Rehabilitation Center surrounded by her loving family and wonderful, caring staff.
Katherine was born in Chicago Illinois, August 31, 1953 to the late Stanley and Celine (Zebraski) Sliwa. Katherine was a proud member of the Mary Angela (St. Hyacinth) parish where her faith was cherished and devoted.
She will be remembered by those who knew her as a loving sister, aunt, great aunt and friend that was there when you needed her most.
Katherine was the loving sister of: Stanley (Flora Miller) of Amherst, Sylvia (Andy) LaCombe of New Bern NC, James (Cindy) of Raleigh NC, John (Melanie) Dunkirk and William (Lori) of Danielsville PA.
She is also survived by nephews: Joe (Robin) and Matthew (Janine) LaCombe, Joe (Renee) Sliwa, Nicholas (Jordan) and Zachary (Samantha Marzka) Sliwa, along with nieces: Elizabeth (Michael) Privitera and Bekki (Steve Mazzuka) Sliwa, as well as, 3 great nieces and 8 great nephews whom she loved and adored immensely. Aunts, uncles and cousins also survive.
Kathy S. is also survived by and predeceased by an extended family and friends of Bill W. with members too many to mention but nonetheless just as an important part of her life.
There will be no prior visitation and as per her request her body was donated to the UB School of Medicine for medical research. A Catholic memorial mass will be held at a later time and a celebration of life will be held May 31, 2019.
