COLLINS — Nancy A. Orth, 77 passed away Friday, May 21, 2021, after a brief illness at the Mercy Hospital in South Buffalo surrounded by family.
Born in Lodi, N.Y. on June 29, 1943, she was the daughter of Leonard and Marian ( Neil) Carmell.
Nancy retired from the former Gowanda Psychiatric Center after more than 30 years of service, at the time of her retirement she was a therapy aid.
Survivors include four children; Kirk (Charlotte) Orth of Dayton, Pamela (Sparky) Parks of Gowanda, Valerie (Doug) Sager of Cherry Creek, and Carla late Samuel) Castellano of Gowanda; eight grandchildren; Brandon Orth, Trianna (Padan) Moore, Nicole Jake) Delay, Michael Allen, Dylan (Emily) Sager, Rhiannon Sager , Alexis Sager and Ryan (Ashley) Castellano; 11 great-grandchildren; Caleb, Braylynn, Aubree, Corbin, Bexley, Lindsay, Emma, Sean, Olivia, Hadley and Avery . Nancy is also survived by two brothers: Carl “Jr.” (Jean) Carmell of San Antonio, Fla., and C. Douglas (Barb) Carmell of Perrysburg; two sisters; Joan (Ron) Welch of Interlaken, N.Y., and Deborah (Bill) Brinkerhoff of Lodi, N.Y. Several nieces and nephews also survive .
Besides her parents, Nancy was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Carmell.
As per Nancy’s wishes, services will be private.
Arrangements are by the SCHINDLER FUNERAL HOME 44 Center St., Gowanda.
