Danny Lee Miller

Danny Lee Miller, 73, of Gowanda, N.Y., passed peacefully into the arms of our Lord, surrounded by his family, on July 15, 2021.

Danny was born in Gowanda on March 22, 1948, to Harold and Jane (Stoll) Miller.

He graduated high school in 1966 and proudly served in the U.S. Navy from 1967-71. He was a member of the USS Francis Scott Key crew, TM2. Danny wore many hats in his life, including police officer and volunteer fire fighter in the village of Cattaraugus, a butcher at Brooks Market, drove a school bus for Cattaraugus Central School, and spent 27 years at West Valley Demonstration Project, where he retired in 2010.

Danny had a passion for motorcycles, and took joy in riding for many years. He was a huge NASCAR fan, and traveled to races along with watching them on TV. He loved photography, you can walk into his living room and see many pictures he proudly took himself. He also bowled in earlier years with his lifelong best friend and honorary brother, Reggie Luce, on Reggie’s Barber Shop team. Danny loved his family immensely, and took joy in spending time with them any chance he had. He was the strongest man we knew, with a heart of gold. To say he will be sorely missed is an understatement. He left a strong legacy of love that will be carried on with his memory.

Danny was predeceased by his parents; his sister, Janet Reims; and his nephew, Charlie Reims.

Left to mourn his loss are his sister, Karen Cocca; daughter, Kerry Robinson (Kelly); stepson, Shawn Salim (Angela), step-daughters: Chantelle Carter (Craig), Jordan Brafford (Shane) and Sherah Leverenz. He also leaves behind his treasured grandchildren: Kyrie, Kelina, Ashley, Dylan, Kyle, Emily, Skylar, Savannah, Gabriel, Bryce, Keanna, Mason and Sierra; along with four great-grandchildren.

Calling hours for Danny’s wake will be Tuesday, July 20, 2021, from 4-7 p.m., from the SCHINDLER FUNERAL HOME, 44 Center St., Gowanda where funeral services will be held Wednesday, July 21, 2021, at 11 a.m. Burial to follow in the Liberty Park Cemetery, Cattaraugus, N.Y., with full military honors

Memorials, if desired may be made to a local charity of ones choice.
