Reva M. Bonasera
Reva M. Bonasera, 52, of Dunkirk, died Sunday morning (Dec. 19, 2021) at Brooks Memorial Hospital following a lengthy illness.
She was born May 11,1969, in Dunkirk, the daughter of the late Vincent and Reva (Keele) Bonasera.
She is survived by her daughter, Tiara (Odane Samuels) Sanabria of Dunkirk; her son, Julio Sanabria Jr. of Dunkirk; two grandchildren: Ahlaila and Legend Samuels; loving companion, Michael Allen; two sisters: Shirley Bonasera and Louise Bonasera; one brother, Tony (Valerie) Bonasera; also her nephew, Victor (Christina) Martinez and their children: Payton, Kylie, Emily, Quelove and Kayden Martinez; as well as several nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews; best friend, Patty Corsi; and adopted daughter, Chezerae Williams.
As a lifelong Dunkirk resident, Reva had been employed by Refresco Beverages for 12 years, as well as Quality markets for 20 years prior.
From an early age, she started taking care of her parents of whom where hearing impaired. She knew sign language as her first language followed by English and Spanish. Reva adored spending time with her lovely daughter and grandchildren of whom she absolutely adored. She was known for her wonderful cooking, humor and love. Reva has always been a part of Dunkirk helping others and motivating them to stay strong and positive. She always put everyone before herself. If anyone could figure out something, it was Reva. She never gave up on any battle, even when she was sick. She fought through to the very end.
Reva was known throughout Dunkirk as a good-hearted woman of whom has touched so many people’s lives during her lifetime. She always made sure that everyone was taken care of and wanted to keep everyone together. She babysat and helped raised many children throughout her lifetime. She took in her niece, Chrell Batista as her own child and treated her children: Oleysia; Kaylianna and Tiesyn Batista as her grandchildren. She was a strong loving woman who cared a great deal for those around her. She was selfless and helped anyone that cross paths with her whether it was to encourage, motivate and cheer them on or if they needed food, shelter or just simply love. She was always a light in the darkest of times and was there for anyone and everyone even when she had nothing. She will be truly missed by everyone.
A celebration of life will be held at DiPietro’s Event Center, 3731 Lakeshore Drive East, Dunkirk, N.Y., on Tuesday, Dec. 28, from 2-9 p.m. A GoFundMe is set up on behalf of Reva Bonasera to help the family with the unexpected expenses.
