Marion L. Roach (nee Ferry)

FREDONIA — Marion L. Roach (nee Ferry), 92, a resident of WCA Home, Temple Street, Fredonia, died Saturday, April 2, 2022, at the Chautauqua Nursing & Rehab Center, Dunkirk, following a short illness.

She was born in Silver Creek, on Oct. 1, 1929, the daughter of the late Donald and Lois M. (Howell) Ferry Sr.

Marion worked as a certified nurse’s aide for the former Chautauqua County Home, Dunkirk, retiring in 1989. She previously worked as a waitress for the former Harbor Diner in Dunkirk, and worked for New Era in Angola, during the 1970s.

Survivors include three daughters: Cynthia (Kenneth) Kaminsky, Linda (Wayne) Stolinski, Marion Matyjakowski; five sons: William (Becky) Roach, Tom Roach Jr., David (Carole) Roach, John (Cecelia) Roach and Richard (Michelle) Roach; two brothers: Howard Ferry and Kenneth (Linda) Ferry. Also surviving are numerous grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her stepfather, Emory Bradley; her husband, Tom R. Roach, Sr., whom she married on Dec. 20, 1951, in Dunkirk; a son-in-law Rick Matyjakowski; a daughter-in-law, Bonnie Roach; two brothers: Donald R. Ferry, Jr. and David L. Ferry; a stepbrother, Robert Bradle; a stepsister; Betty Haines, an infant granddaughter and an infant grandson.

Services are private and at the convenience of family.
