Joan Cody, 89, formerly of Dunkirk, NY died at the Chautauqua Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Dunkirk, NY on November 1, 2022. She was born on July 31, 1933 to the late Lucille (Dollineg) and Thomas Harvey
She was a graduate of the Dunkirk, School System. In 1953, she married the love of her life, Douglas Cody, who predeceased her in 1987.
She enjoyed being a homemaker, especially baking for her family. Joan dearly loved her children, four grandchildren and four great grandchildren. When Douglas was alive, they really delighted in traveling with each other.
Joan is survived by her daughter, Lynn Ann (Mark) Brenecki of Fredonia, NY and son,William (Cyndi) Cody of Dunkirk, NY, grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Be sides her parents and husband, Joan was preceded in death by her sister, Jane Forster of Fredonia, NY.
Joan’s 11:00 AM Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, November 5, 2022 at the FANTAUZZI FUNERAL HOME, 82 East Main Street, Fredonia, NY, with the Reverend Joseph Walter officiating. Relatives and friends are invited to attend her Funeral Service and may call at the Funeral Home on Friday, November4, 2022 from 4-6:00 PM.
