Susan Anne Wickham
Susan Anne Wickham, 72, of Gerry, NY passed away of Sunday (May 28, 2023) with her family’s love all around her. Sue was loved and respected by everyone that knew her and always knew how to comfort you and make you smile, even when times were tough.
Sue was born on June 5, 1950 and was immediately adopted into a loving family. She excelled at school from a young age and graduated from Westfield Academy and Central School in 1968. In 1971 she married the “love of her life”, Thomas Wickham, and remained married for 49 years until his passing in August 2021. Sue moved quite a bit during her marriage residing in not only New York, but Virginia and Pennsylvania, as well. She held several occupations over the years at Welch’s, Boscov’s, Wegman’s, local school districts, dental assistant at Dr. Sinatra’s office, and as a highly respected orthodontist assistant. But, none of those jobs could surpass the absolute joy and pride she felt as a mother to three children and a grandmother to six grandchildren. Sue loved spending time with her family. She planned countless birthday and pool parties, and never missed a sporting event for her children or grandchildren. She was selfless and loving and always placed the needs of others in front of her own. Aside from creating forever-bonds with her family, Sue was a spiritual person who loved lunch out with friends and connecting with a multitude of pets and animals.
She is survived by her children: Justin T. (Janelle) Wickham of North Tonawanda, Amy J. (Jesse) Beers of Fredonia, NY, and Tyler D. (Kathryn) Wickham of Oklahoma City, OK; as well as her grandchildren: Ethan and Alexa Wickham, Kazlin and Rylee Beers, and Jared and Allyson Wickham. They credit her for teaching them “just about everything they know,” but nothing more important than how to love and take care of one another.
Susan is preceded in death by her mother: Marjorie Louch; her stepfather: Abraham Louch; and her husband: Thomas Wickham.
A private memorial service will be held at the Westfield Cemetery on Saturday (June 3, 2023) at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Gerry, NY Volunteer Fire Department, or your local animal shelter.
