Phyllis A. Hoth
of 513 Railroad Ave., Cherry Creek, NY, died July 24, 2023 peacefully in her home surrounded by her family. She was born May 23, 1931 in Leon, NY, the daughter of Carl and Gena Twichell Goosman. She graduated from Cherry Creek High School in 1948.
She was a Homemaker for many years, later working in Food Service for Gowanda Psychiatric Center and J.N. Adam DDSO, retiring in 1993. She was a life member of Cherry Creek VFW Auxiliary, also had belonged to the Legion Auxiliary, CSEA, AARP, the Arthritis Foundation, Macular Degeneration International, and the 3 Score and 5 Club.
Phyllis loved watching the birds (the cardinal was one of her favorites), gardening, her roses, and being outdoors.
Surviving are her children Karen Hoth of Royal Oak, MI; Kathy Miller of Charlotte, NC; Kristin Laferte of Havre de Grace, MD; Kreig Hoth (Kristen) of Gerry, NY; and Kirk Hoth of Cherry Creek, NY. She is also survived by 10 grandchildren: Aimee Hoth, Stephen Miller, David Miller, Anna Miller (Kyle), Kyle Laferte (Liz), Kaylin Goodwin (Brandon), Kelvin Hoth, Kody Hoth, Kaitlyn Hoth, and Kristina Hoth; and 4 great-grandchildren: Willow, Clayton, Scarlett, and Maddox Goodwin.
Besides her parents, Phyllis was preceded in death by her sister, Alice Meacham of Lockport, NY, and brother, Raymond Goosman of Lancaster, NY.
No visiting hours will be observed. DiStasio Funeral Home Inc. will be in charge of arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the local Audubon Society or to the Chautauqua County Humane Society.
