Rebecca A. “Becky” Hughes

She was born at Brooks Memorial Hospital on October 27, 1961 in Dunkirk, NY the daughter of John and Maryann (nee Tytka) Olszewski.

Becky graduated from Silver Creek High School in 1979. She continued her education by taking sales courses from Dale Carnegie, the State University of NY at Buffalo, Jamestown Business College, and Jamestown Community College.

Becky was a compassionate and friendly individual easily making new friends. This helped make her successful as a human resource specialist, sales representative, and the owner-operator of Gardener’s Flowers & Gifts for several years. She ended her employment years as an advertising representative for the Dunkirk Observer due to declining health. Her memberships included the Sheridan United Methodist Church and the Forestville, NY,Order of the Eastern Star.

Becky is survived by her cherished parents, John and Maryann (nee Tytka) Olszewski of Silver Creek, NY; her beloved daughter, Katrina M. Hughes of Dunkirk; a sister, Lynne (Steven) Schmitt of Fredonia; a brother, Dr. John Olszewski III of Cincinnati, OH; an uncle James (Sue) Tytka of Silver Creek. She is also survived by dozens of cousins scattered throughout the United States.

As per Becky’s wishes, there will be no public visitation. There will be a Celebration of Life at the convenience of the family, date and time to be announced. The family suggests memorial contributions in Becky’s memory be made to a charity of your choice.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the Hole-Parker Funeral Chapel, 160 Central Ave. Silver Creek, NY.
