June M. Panek

She was born in Little Valley, NY on February 26, 1930, the daughter of the late Manley and Viola (Ormsby) Fuss.

June was a graduate of Forestville Central School, Class of 1947 and was a member of DeGolyer’s Dollies. She enjoyed gardening, reading and watching Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy.

Survivors include four children; Richard (Marilyn) Panek, of Lake View; Keith (Debbie) Panek, of Dunkirk; Cindy (Charles) Shaver, of Dunkirk; Tracy Panek, of Fredonia; a sister, Donna Wilson, of Kennedy and brother in law Ronald Sobecki of Forestville. Also surviving are six grandchildren; Amy (Mike Munson) Panek, Zachary Panek, Brett Panek, Brandon (Marisa) Shaver, Tania (Rashad Graham) Shaver & Megann Panek, three step grandchildren Jessica, Philip and Nicholas Berdyck and six great grandchildren; Timothy Brunecz, Cambria Shaver, Brock Munson, Lisa Panek, Iris Stelley and Roman Graham.

Besides her parents she was predeceased by her husband William Panek, whom she married on October 28, 1950 in Silver Creek and who died September 14, 2022, four sisters: Gladys Brunelle, Joyce Austin, Shirley Sawyer, Jeanne Sobecki and a daughter in law Lisa (Langford) Panek.

Friends are welcome to call at Riles & Woolley Funeral Home, 39 Main Street, Forestville on Tuesday from 4-7 PM, from where Funeral Services will be held Wednesday morning at 11 o’clock, with Rev. David Watson, pastor of Sheridan United Methodist Church, officiating. Interment will follow in Forestville Cemetery.
