Alan F. Korinek

Alan F. Korinek, aged 80, of Westfield, NY and formally Cleveland, Ohio, passed away peacefully on January 18, 2024, in Erie, Pennsylvania.

Born on October 1, 1943, to the late Anton Korinek and Agnes Weber, Alan was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and brother. A respected veteran, Alan honorably served in the United States Navy before embarking on a successful career as the Manager of Rudy’s Hardware in Cleveland, Ohio.

The same commitment and dedication he devoted to his country carried over into his professional life, where he was known for his hard work ethic and leadership. Alan’s 57-year marriage to his loving wife Carol A. Winkelman was the foundation of a vibrant family life that included his cherished children, Stanton (Erin), Joanna (Patrick), and Anthony (Annette), as well as his adored grandchildren, Kori, Morgan, Jordan, Sydney, Carly, Kevin, Connor, AJ, Caleb, and Autumn. He was a proud great- grandfather to seven great-grandchildren.

Although he is now predeceased by his sister Clara Winkelman, his legacy continues through the family, close friends and several nieces and nephews. Beyond his family and work, Alan found joy in fishing, woodworking, and attending his grandchildren’s sporting events. His ability to create treasures with his hands was matched by his passion for spending time with family and friends. Alan lived a full life marked by enduring love, unwavering generosity, and unforgettable memories. Alan F. Korinek will be deeply missed and eternally remembered by all those whose lives he touched.

As per Alan’s wishes, there will not be any viewing or funeral service. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
