Roy Frederickson
SOUTH DAYTON: Roy Frederickson, 90, of Pine Street, South Dayton passed away Friday, January 5th, 2024 peacefully at home surrounded by family. He was born in Arcade on January 14, 1933, the son of the late Robert and Delsie (Parr) Frederickson.
Roy worked and retired as a Farm Manager for the former Campbell’s Angus Farm South Dayton. Previously he worked for the former Peter Cooper Corporation in Gowanda, Spartan Construction and for Vince Ackley. He was the “Hoy-Doddy” Hay Delivery Service.
Roy enjoyed attending the antique tractor pulls & music in the park in South Dayton, square dancing and playing the lottery and pinochle.
Survivors include four daughters, Marjorie Keppel, of Forestville; Mary Lou (Dale) Parks, of Brocton; Michele Frederickson, of Dunkirk; Melinda (John Mosher) Frederickson, of South Dayton; a son, Michael (Becky) Frederickson, of Jamestown; four sisters, Irene (Earl) Blakely, of Irving; Anna Frederickson, of Silver Creek; Lucille Harmon, of Florida; Lois (David) Valentine, of Forestville; and a brother, James Frederickson, of Forestville. Also surviving are a brother-in-law Lester Palmer of Dunkirk, sixteen grandchildren, eighteen great grandchildren, one great-great grandson and several nieces & nephews.
Besides his parents he was predeceased by his wife Frances (Hunold) Frederickson, whom he married on January 14, 1956 in St. Rose of Lima RC Church, Buffalo and who died October 6, 2007, a daughter Marsha Frederickson who died February 10, 2023, an infant great grandson Cody Carlson, a granddaughter Charlotte Parks who died in 2011, brothers Marvin, Robert, Lyle, Ernest, Harold and Donald who died January 20, 2021, and sisters Mavis Bonkoske & Virginia Palmer who died December 17, 2020.
Friends are welcome to call at Riles & Woolley Funeral Home, 39 Main Street, Forestville on Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM, from where Funeral Services will be held Wednesday afternoon at 1 o’clock with Rev. Michael Pollock, officiating. Interment will follow in Balltown Cemetery, Town of Hanover.
