Ronald A. Scaccia

Ronald A. Scaccia, respected community member, and proud veteran, passed away peacefully on October 20, 2024, at the age of 76 after a lengthy battle with Parkinsons Disease.

Born on December 14,1947, to Frank “Nick” and Angie (Diate) Scaccia, Ronald’s journey was one marked by dedication,service, and love.Following his graduation from Brocton Central Schools, Ronald committed himself to a life of public service and community involvement. For three decades, he worked diligently for the Village of Brocton,NY, and served as the town justice in the Town of Portland for 25 years. His sense of duty extendedbeyond local governance as he honorably served in the US Navy aboard the USS Fulton.

Ron’s passion for service was also evident in his 50 years as a member of the Brocton Fire Department. His commitment to his fellow service members was unwavering, evidenced by his long standing involvement as a lifetime member of the American Legion Post 434 in Brocton, NY. and as a 25 year member of the NYS Magistrates Association.

Outside of his professional life and volunteer work, Ron found joy in the little things that enriched his life. He relished the times spent at his cottage in Bournes Beach, Westfield, NY, where he could be found sitting on the patio waving to neighbors. Ron also enjoyed making memories and friends while traveling and cruising. In his later years, he became a member of the New Horizons Band.A faithful member of the Presbyterian Church in Fredonia, NY, Ron’s spirituality anchored his commitment to his community and family.

He leaves behind a loving family which includes his wife, Janine Shumaker Scaccia; his sister, JoAnn (Doug) Patterson; his children, Erica (Kirk Winters) Miller; stepchildren, Jonathan (Christa) Stelmack andJill (David) Mieczkowski; adoring grandchildren, Hannah, Owen, Ethan, and Leah; and cherished nieces, Michelle Patterson, Jenni (Dan Shinners) Patterson, great-niece Isabelle.

Besides his parents Ronaldwas predeceased by his great niece Madeline Schinners.

Ronald A. Scaccia’s legacy will be felt for generations to come through the countless lives he touched with his service, love, and devotion. His memory will forever be cherished and honored by all who had the privilege to know him.

Relatives and Friends may visit Morse Funeral Home 51 Highland Ave Brocton, NY Friday October 25, 2024 from 6PM to 8PM and Saturday from 10AM to 12PM where a funeral service will immediately follow.Interment will be in Portland Evergreen Cemetery
