Rosemary Lancaster
Rosemary (Mizwa) Lancaster, 77, of Dunkirk, passed away Sunday morning, December 8, 2024 at the Chautauqua Nursing and Rehab Center.
Born in Dunkirk on May 2, 1947, wife of the late David Lancaster and daughter of the late Walter Mizwa Sr. and Amelia (Martin) Mizwa.
A lifelong Dunkirk resident, Rosemary graduated from Dunkirk High School and went on to earn an Associate’s degree. Her professional journey saw her retire from the Agri-Business Child Development (ABCD) in Fredonia, where she dedicated many years to nurturing the growth and development of children.
Rosemary will be remembered fondly for her strong-willed nature and the resilience she demonstrated throughout her life, particularly as she faced her illness with remarkable strength and grace.
She cherished and loved spending time with family and was a constant presence at her granddaughter’s events.
In her leisure time, Rosemary found great pleasure in camping and socializing with friends and family. She also took pride in her yard work and had an enthusiasm for shopping.
Memberships include the Dunkirk Senior Center and the The Northern Chautauqua Conservation Club Ladies Auxiliary.
Survivors include her sons Brad (Megan Pisarcik) Lancaster and Brett (Amber) Lancaster; granddaughters Meghan, Kelsey and Kayleigh; siblings Pat Adamowicz and Janet (Steve) Szopinski. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Preceding Rosemary is her loving Husband David Lancaster, parents Walter Mizwa Sr. and Amelia (Martin) Mizwa; brothers Walter Mizwa Jr., and Daniel Mizwa.
Friends and family are welcome to attend Calling Hours on Thursday, December 12, 2024 from 4-7 p.m. at McGraw-Kowal Funeral Home; 736 Central Avenue, Dunkirk, NY. Interment in Private.
