Warren Abbott Colgrove Jr.

WESTFIELD- Warren Abbott Colgrove Jr., 89, North East, PA and formerly of Westfield, NY, passed away at Parkside North East in North East, PA on Tuesday, December 10, 2024, with family at his side. He was born January 5, 1935, in Westfield, NY, the son of the late Warren A Colgrove Sr and Irene Johnson Colgrove.

He was an accomplished Sportsman and enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was a skeet and trap shooter. He had many hobbies, including golfing, carpenter work, electrical work, designing and fixing up old houses, raising show horses, dancing, traveling, reading and camping.

Warren was employed by Renold Ajax Inc in Westfield, NY for 33 years as an Industrial Designer. He retired in 1991. He had attended the University of Buffalo and RIT in Rochester, NY.

Active with 4-H he served as a 4-H horse leader for many years. He was a member of the Portage Trail Riders and the American Quarter Horse Association. He was a life member of the Westfield Fish and Game Club and the National Rifle Association, a life member of the First Presbyterian Church of Westfield where he served as an Elder and Deacon for many years, a member of the Lakeshore Square Dancing Club, the Crazy Eight Dancing Club and Cloud 9 Dancers.

He was a member of the Chautauqua Choir, the Westfield Community Choir and the Presbyterian Church Choir. He and his family raised and showed Registered Quarter Horses for many years. He enjoyed spending winters in Tucson, AZ.

Warren is survived by his loving wife, Gloria Hanes Colgrove, whom he married October 29, 1955, a son, Darrell W. Colgrove of Erie, PA, a daughter, Cynthia (Kevin) Testrake Seblink of Westfield, NY, two grandchildren, John R. (Natalie) Testrake of Oxford, AL, and Michael E. (Danielle) Testrake of Baltimore, MD, and one great-grandson, Rowan C. Testrake.

A memorial service will be held at Noon on Saturday, December 28, 2024, at the First Presbyterian Church of Westfield (49 S. Portage Rd). The family will receive friends for 1 hour prior to the service (11AM to Noon), at the church. A luncheon will follow, also at the church. Interment will be private in the Westfield Cemetery.
