Betty Poole

Betty was a dedicated servant of the Lord and a lifelong Evangelist who played a pivotal role in establishing the Apostolic House of Prayer in Dunkirk, NY. She faithfully served her church and community for over 30 years, leaving a lasting legacy of faith, compassion, and dedication.

She is survived by her beloved sister, Bertha Matthias of California; her son, John Thomas of Dunkirk, NY; her son, Calvin Thomas of Jamestown, NY; and her daughter, Gwen Thomas of Dunkirk, NY. Betty was also the proud grandmother of Shinae Thomas of Buffalo, NY, and Jason Williams of Sinclairville, NY, along with a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews who will cherish her memory.

Betty was preceded in death by her brother, Ray Johnson; her sister, Mary McKinnon; her mother, Jesse Flourney; and her children, daughter Jackie Thomas and son Jesse Thomas.

A memorial service to celebrate Betty’s life will be held on Friday, January 10, 2024, from 11:00 AM to 12:30 PM at Apostolic House of Prayer, located at 212 Park Ave, Dunkirk, NY.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Mackowiak Funeral Home.
