Catherine F. Stronner

Gowanda – Catherine F. Stronner, 76, of Gowanda passed away Friday, January 3, 2025 at Buffalo General Hospital. She was born on May 6, 1948, daughter of the late Marcos and Mildred (Beckman) Dallas. On May 26, 1973 she married the late William Stronner, who predeceased her on March 5, 2013.

For many years, she worked as a therapy aide for the Gowanda Psychiatric Center and then WNYDDSO until her retirement in 2003. Catherine enjoyed flowers, and gardening. She also loved feeding her birds, especially the hummingbirds. She was a member of the St. John’s Community Church in Cattaraugus and the Collins Senior Group.

Mrs. Stronner is survived by a son, Ralph (Heather) Stronner of Cassadaga, a brother, Lewis (Jacqlyn) Dallas of Otto, as well as a sister-in-law, Sharon Webber of South Dayton. Also surviving are three nephews, Steven Dallas, James Penharlow, Kevin Penharlow, and two nieces, Lisa Whipple, and Michelle Dash along with all of their families.

Besides her parents and husband, Catherine is predeceased by a sister, Mary Snyder.

Friends may call on Wednesday, January 8, 2025 from 6-8 pm from Mentley Funeral Home Inc., 105 East Main St. in Gowanda.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, January 9, 2025 at 11 am from the funeral home.

Burial will be in East Hill Cemetery in Otto.
