Chayse Anthony Langworthy

Chayse Anthony Langworthy of Fredonia, NY, passed away on Saturday December 28, 2024, at the age of 33.

Chayse was born on June 21, 1991, to Kelly (Tarr) Snyder of Wewahitchka, FL and Kenneth A. Langworthy (Amanda S. Tilley) of Forestville, NY at Jones Memorial Hospital in Wellsville, NY.

Chayse was a graduate of Bolivar-Richburg Central School in 2009. While there, he excelled at academics and sports, still holding the school record for discus.

Following high school, Chayse attended SUNY JCC Jamestown where he graduated with dual Associates degrees. He received a scholar award for his research while there which then led him to attending University of Rochester where he obtained his Bachelors degree in Biochemistry.

Chayse’s love of science and adventure lead him to Colorado, where he resided for 5 years before returning to his hometown of Bolivar, NY, prior to moving to Fredonia, NY.

Chayse was the Co-Founder and COO at Hemp Nexus and Co-Founder of Langworthy Enterprises. Chayse was working at On Center Contracting as a lead supervisor. Chayse was an ordained minister and officiated the marriages of several of his friends.

During his travels, Chayse met and befriended many people while maintaining life-long relationships with his childhood friends. Those who crossed paths with Chayse were often struck by his genuine compassion and love of life. Chayse was known for his free spirit, kindness, generosity and positivity. Chayse wore his smile well and had an infectious laugh. His presence radiated warmth and acceptance, drawing people towards him effortlessly.

Chayse enjoyed being in nature, music, traveling, snowboarding, hunting, kayaking, hiking, biking, cooking, reading, maintaining a healthy mind and body, and having deep meaningful conversations. His biggest loves were his family and friends. Chayse shared a deep connection with his siblings- sisters: Brittany Shively of Olean, NY, Rhiley Langworthy (Dawson Dunbar) of Wellsville, NY, Alyssah Langworthy (Deon Gayton) of Olean, NY and Makayla McGinty (Brendan Hoffmann) of Forestville, NY brothers: Nathan (Jordyn) Shivley of Amherst, NY, Alan Michael Hitchcock of Bixby, OK, and Shaun McGinty of Forestville, NY. In addition to being a beloved son and brother, Chayse was known as the loving “Uncle Chunks” to his niece Blake and nephews Parker, Carter, Beamer, Declan and Zion, whom he loved to be around, and watch grow. Although Chayse had no children of his own, his sweet baby girl Edda Rose was his fur baby who he considered his daughter. They could be found together at the parks, woods, beach, running and longboarding together.

Chayse leaves behind many aunts, uncles, cousins and his Grandparents John and Regina Copenhaver of Bolivar, NY and Grandmother Teresa Tilley of Dunkirk, NY and former stepmother Felicia Shivley of Olean, NY.

Chayse was predeceased by his aunt Tina, maternal grandparents Gene and Debra Tarr, grandmother Sheila Shively, and grandfather David Tilley Sr.

Though his time here was heartbreakingly brief, Chayse’s legacy is one of light and connection. He reminded us all of the profound impact one’s life can have when lived with authenticity and heart. His memory will continue to inspire those who loved him deeply.

May Chayse’s light shine eternally in the hearts of those fortunate enough to have known him.

Family and friends will be received from 12:00pm to 1:00pm on Saturday January 4, 2025 at the Crosstown Alliance Church located at 1513 Main St. Olean, NY 14760. Funeral service will follow. The Rev Tim Taylor, Pastor of the Crosstown Alliance Church in Shinglehouse, PA will officiate.

Arrangements are under the care of Laing Funeral Home of Eden, NY.
