Dunkirk, NY — Donald J. “Slick” San George, 70, of Dunkirk, passed away Saturday morning, January 25, 2025 at the Chautauqua Nursing and Rehab Center in Dunkirk. Born in Dunkirk on April 27, 1954, husband of Susan K. (Bialaszewski) San George and son of the late Anthony and Stella (Smith) San George.

A lifelong resident of Dunkirk, Donald attended Dunkirk High School. A dedicated worker, he spent many years as a machinist at Lakeside Precision. His career also included time as a bus driver.

Outside of work, Donald enjoyed a range of hobbies. He was an avid gardener, His love for motorcycles was not just a pastime; it was a passion that took him on adventurous rides, often stopping for refreshing beer and delicious chicken wings along the way. Donald was also a motorcycle and antique car enthusiast, regularly working on his cherished vehicles himself and earning numerous first-place awards at car shows for his hard work.

Donald was known for his loving and caring nature. He possessed a unique ability to converse with anyone, making him well-loved by friends and family alike. His humor, warmth, and genuine kindness left an indelible mark on all who had the privilege of knowing him. He also had a love for animals that further showcased his kind spirit.

Donald found joy in spending time with his family and had a special bond with his grandchildren, often gifting them odd trinkets.

Survivors include Donald’s lifelong sweetheart Susan K. (Bialaszewski) San George; daughters Kellie (Ricardo) Rivera and Jennifer (Matthew) Laurito; grandchildren Glorimar Rivera, Alany Rivera, Aliyah Rivera and Ricardo Rivera Jr., Ryan Laurito, Nathan Laurito, and Luke Laurito; great-grandson Ace Shambley; brother David (late Kathleen) San George. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Donald is preceded by his brothers Anthony and Samuel San George.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, February 1, 2025 from 2-7 p.m. at the First Ward Falcon Club; 341 Lake Shore Dr E, Dunkirk, NY. Arrangements by R. Mackowiak Funeral Home, Inc.; 56 East Doughty Street, Dunkirk, NY.
