Robert H. Wood, DDS

Bob was born March 1, 1931 in South Dayton, New York, to Marcus and Ruth (Egbert) Wood. While attending school, he worked at his father’s grocery store. He graduated as valedictorian from Pine Valley Central High School in 1949. Bob started college at Fenn College (now Cleveland State University), before transferring to the University of Buffalo to study engineering. In 1951, he married his high school sweetheart, Joyce Milks. He told many that she was the greatest woman ever!

After graduating at the top of his class with an engineering degree, he and Joyce spent the next ten years raising son, Ken, and daughter, Chris, working and living in Aiken, South Carolina; Idaho Falls, Idaho; and Piqua, Ohio. In 1964, Bob moved his family back to South Dayton and entered the University of Buffalo Dental School. He graduated with his DDS and remained at University of Buffalo as a faculty member in the Dental School until his retirement.

Bob was preceded in death by Joyce, with whom he shared 69 years of marriage.

Those left to cherish his memory are his daughter, Chris (Terry) Foreman from Toledo, Ohio; grandson, Trevor (Jaclyn Kreamer) Wood from South Dayton; and great-grandchildren, Cole Robert and Linley Joy Wood. He is also survived by his son, Kenneth Wood.

Burial will be private. For those wishing to express condolences, contributions are suggested for Lutheran Immanuel Church, Otto, New York. Come Spring thaw, we will gather and raise a glass to toast the lives of Bob and Joyce Wood. May they both rest in peace, together, for eternity.
