Howard H. Ferry, 91, of Fredonia, NY, passed away Friday February 21, 2025 at the Chautauqua Nursing & Rehabilitation Center. He was born August 14, 1933 to the late Donald Ferry Sr. and Lois (Howell) Ferry Bradley. He attended Brocton High School and married his wife, Doris (Schrader) Ferry on February 14, 1953. A hard working man, Howard was a self-employed dairy and grape farmer. He owned and operated the Mc-AI-Lee Farms for 35 years and Covered Wagon Ice Cream and Produce in Fredonia. In 1964 Howard was the recipient of the Outstanding Young Farmer of the Year Award presented by the Fredonia Junior Chamber of Commerce and was the Grand Marshal of the Fredonia Farm Festival in 1993. Although busy with his family and his work, Howard found time to serve on the Pomfret C&E Agency Board of Directors and National Welch Grape Growers Advisory Board. Howard was a longtime member of the Laona Methodist Church. He loved taking horse drawn buggy rides and teaching Amber about animal care. He always enjoyed family and friends stopping in for a visit, growing his vegetable garden and birdwatching.
Howard is survived by his children: Michael L. (Joel) Ferry, of Jamestown, NY and Christine (James) Decker, of Fredonia, NY; grandchildren: Denise (Tracy) Ferry-Atwell, Kathleen (Ken) Ferry-Kozlowski, Jaxxon H. Ferry, Cody Decker, Casey Decker and Amber Decker, Nathan Ferry, Jordan Ferry and Emalee (Michael) Vail; great-grandchildren: Evan, Emerson, Kylie, Madilynn and Keara Ferry; a brother, Kenneth Ferry Sr.; also survived by adopted daughters: Missy (Sievert) Wysocki and Tara (Williams) Riewaldt; and several nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, Howard is predeceased by his wife, Doris (Schrader) Ferry; his son, Bruce A. Ferry; grandson, Adam M. Ferry; brothers: David L. Ferry and Donald Ferry; a sister, Marion Roach and stepfather, Emery Bradley.
The family thanks Chautauqua Hospice and the staff and nurses of the Chautauqua Nursing and Rehab Center. Very special thank you for your loving care you made to our father, Denise Zentz, you’re the best.

Calling hours will be held at the LARSON-TIMKO Funeral Home, 20 Central Avenue, Fredonia, Wednesday from 4-8 pm where a funeral service will be held Thursday at 11 am. Interment will be in the Laona Cemetery.
