Karen Anne Crane- Rancka
Karen Anne Crane- Rancka passed away on the morning of Sunday, February 23rd, 2025. After a lengthy illness that she fought hard.
She was born, July 7, 1949 to parents, Raymond Crane and Elaine Ostrye-Crane. She attended St. Mary’s Catholic School and graduated from Cardinal Mindszenty Catholic High School in 1967. Karen used to bake at the Plaza Bakery back in the day. She worked for Dr. Stephen Stratton’s Dentistry for over 30 years, where she really enjoyed the patients. Karen was also a long time member and employee with the Columbus Club in Dunkirk, NY. Everybody loved her Spaghetti lunches.
She loved to play second base and coach for the local softball league for many years for teams like a Brothers II, Aquavia Post and Columbus Club. Beautiful Allegany State Park was her favorite place to escape since childhood where she enjoyed time with her friends and family. She was also an avid Bills fan.
Karen was predeceased by her parents, Raymond Crane and Elaine Ostrye-Crane.
She is survived by her longtime loving companion, Ricardo Bauza of Dunkirk, New York. Her daughter, Deana Rancka of Lilburn, Georgia and son, Joseph Rancka of Jamestown, New York. Also her brothers Kevin(Joanne) Crane, Steve(Jill) Crane and John Crane and sisters, Mary(Larry)Demuth and Margie(Chuck)Ruffino. And two grandchildren she loved so much, Cain Patriaco, Taylor Rancka along with her dear friend, Pam Luczkowiak. Karen had close relationships with her many nieces and nephews and loved them all dearly.
She was a wonderful mother, sister, grandmother, aunt, partner and caring friend to many. Karen will be sorely missed.
Relatives and friends are welcome to attend Calling Hours on Friday, February 28, 2025 from 4-6 p.m. at McGraw-Kowal Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, March 1, 2025 at 10 a.m. at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Roman Catholic Church. Interment in Holy Trinity Cemetery.
